Creating Walls for "The Sims"
Thursday July 3, 2003
Recently a reader wrote in with a question about making walls for "The Sims." Claire asked the following question:
"I used Ultimate Paint to make gorgeous walls. When I used Homecrafter to export them, I got a message saying that the walls had to be changed from 24-bit to 256-bit. The walls look TERRIBLE in 256-bit. They are now ruined! How can I bypass Homecrafter so that I can sneak the 24-bit walls into the game?"
Homecrafter is the official add-on to make walls for "The Sims." The walls must be in 256 color mode to be imported into Homecrafter. Unfortantely, Homecrafter is the only way to export wall files into the correct format. I'm sorry to say Claire, you won't be able to use your beautifully crafted walls in the game.
