An update for "The Sims 3" is ready to download. Find the update through the launcher. Game updates can be downloaded automatically if you so choose. Anyone not automatically updates?
How's everyone's experience with the patch? The last patch caused Mac players to not be able to install custom content.

I downloaded the 1.4 patch and now my computer says it can not read the disk. the disk is clean obviously but i dont know what to do, any ideas?
Patching it to 1.4 seems to have disabled the, ahem, anti-blur patch on my copy.
Same here apsaras. I re-installed the patch but it no longer works. I guess I have to get used to the distracting blur now… until someone updates the patch that is.
mollidolli, maybe try uninstalling and reinstalling entire game. Backup your families first.
Wow….I knew there would be probblems with this. Other than the fact that there may be a bug in the patch, it might also be that your computer can no longer read the disc because it doesn’t have the required processor speed. I had this problem at first. If that is the case, there is nothing to be done. Try repeatedly opening and closing your disc drive until you manage to have the game read it.
My brother does not have internet access. Where can I find the update downloads to burn for him?

But i found out that if u go too C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin\TS3.exe it will work again now all happy

i did this and it worked at first and loaded the game but then said insert the disk or quit when the game was on :/ any help?
I did what james Bond said, and it doesn’t work. I get to start the game, but i get a black screen.
I downloaded the patch, and now everything thats white is blurry and glowing like the suns hitting it, and whenever my sim takes a shower, the noise of water follows her even after shes done… It was perfect yesterday, I downloaded the patch today, and not its not working…
I’ve got the sims 3 world adventures , but when i want to install it , it tells me that the sims 3 needs to be updated. where can i get those updates. because i dont have internet on the computer where the sims are installed. please help
