If you find yourself panting, pawing, cooing or cawing over the imminent release of The Sims 3 Pets Expansion Pack, there's a remedy for that. Starting today, you can download the "Create-a-Pet" portion of the game for free.
Now you'll be able to create the perfect looking cat, dog or horse to suit your personal tastes.
Options include the ability to lengthen ears and snouts, alter fur textures and eye colors, add layers to create specific markings, and assign up to three personality traits.
Want your cat to be lazy? (A stretch, I know.) Hyper? Clueless? Done! Personality traits are one of the many interesting features in this expansion.
Once you've finished designing your perfect pet, you can save him or her to transfer into the full game when it's released on October 21, 2011.
One thing to keep in mind is that you'll have to install EA's Origin application (and agree to the terms of service) before you can download the game. Another is the file size of the Create-a-Pet Demo, which clocks in at 1.4 gigabytes.
Origin is basically the publisher's version of Steam, allowing you to purchase digital downloadable versions of computer games, add friends and chat from a single hub. You can also try games like The Sims Medieval and Spore from directly within your browser.
