Steam's Summer Sale Wants Your Votes

The Steam Summer Sale for 2012 has officially kicked off with little warning or fanfare, but there are now more ways than ever to enjoy reduced prices on your favorite computer games. Once again there are daily deals, which reduce specific titles or franchises by as much as 75% off the publisher's original prices, and package deals on groups of games from select publishers. Yet there are two new options as well: flash sales and "the community's choice."

Flash sales are time-sensitive deals that last for a set number of hours, while the community's choice has customers choosing the deal from a group of three games. The winner of the vote will then be on sale for eight hours. Once a vote is finished, another vote will appear, making this sale far more interactive (and potentially more rewarding) than previous sales on the popular digital download service. The Steam Summer Sale starts today and runs through July 22nd. Wondering if you missed out on a certain title? You can see all of the deals as they are updated on my Steam Summer Sale 2012 recap page.
