Simple games of Lemonade Stand at school first drew me to computer sim titles, but the addiction didn't start until Maxis' original SimCity. Building a city from scratch and watching it evolve over time was deeply satisfying, yet the realization that my decisions as mayor actually influenced its growth or decline was intoxicating.
Since then, I've been a fighter pilot, space captain, general manager, ruthless dictator, racecar driver, pet owner and so much more -- all without leaving the house. Few genres offer as much diversity as computer simulations, but it can be hard to find worthwhile games among all the potential choices.
