The mouse is an important part of your computer. Optical is the way to go. I was forever cleaning the inside of my old one. Wireless is great for gaming however, long gaming sessions can really wear out mice.

2) Logitech Cordless Mouseman Wheel
I admit this mouse looks like it would be very uncomfortable. Its quite the opposite. This mouse is wireless, has a 6 foot range, and has good battery life. No need to install software, unless you want to make customizations.
3) Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer
Not only does this mouse look sleek, but works like a dream. There are five programmable buttons, placed in convenient spots. The downside is that it was designed for right handed people only.
