The final expansion pack for "The Sims" is here. After 7 expansion packs, Maxis has been working on "The Sims 2." "The Sims Makin' Magic" expansion pack explores the world of Magic and brings the chaos of creating spells to "The Sims."
Sims will be casting spells, making home baked goods, and exploring Magic Town in "The Sims Makin' Magic" expansion pack. A mystery man will drop by, and leave a magic starter kit in a box. If you don't want your families to be magical, you can sell or delete the box, and not have to worry about it again. Otherwise, you'll want to open the box and collect the contents. You'll get a magic charger and a spellbook, along with ingredients to make your first spell. After that, it's up to you to collect ingredients and learn what each does.

Searching and earning ingredients is a big part of the game. Some ingredients can be bought with Magicoins (coins that you'll earn putting on magic shows), simoleans, or by completing a quest. Quests involve delivering an item from a seller to a buyer. The seller than gives you a reward for completing the task. Another quest has you helping a seller by cheering up one of their friends. Quests are easy, but the ingredient you are given is random, and it could take some time to get that specific ingredient you are looking for.

Kids can be magical too. They use ingredients that are available without being purchased in Magic Town. Kids have a special magic wand charger.

Magic Shows and duels earn Magicoins for Sims. Logic and mechanical skills come into play on your chances of performing good or bad. Magicoins have a second use as well. You can save up and buy a residential lot in Magic Town.

The types of spells/charms you can cast have a good range, although many I don't see myself using on a regular basis. There are spells for cleaning up the dishes, a perfect garden, grow up spell for kids, and increasing friendship points.
