Here's where the story ends...
Well, the Internet, if nothing else, is everchanging,
and I've decided it's time for a personal change. I'm leaving About.com
and ending my role as Guide of this site. I won't give a long-winded,
heart-felt, melodramatic goodbye but will say that I have enjoyed my time
here, especially my chance in getting to know many people through my role
as Editor of the SCN and as Guide of the CompSimGames site.
Now, get out of here and go play...

Though Friday the 13th in the US is usually an unlucky
day (especially for the supersitious), it's a good day for the SCN. I'm
in discussions with a number of strong applicants for the SCN Editor's
position and should announce this person soon. Thanks to all who have
applied and, to our visitors, hang in there for a bit longer while we
get back on track.

Everything must change. That's the theme of today's SCN.
I had a semi-vacation from About.com while I digested
some changes that were given to us on Thursday. These changes will have
some editorial implications, namely that I'll no longer have the ability
to bring you the SCN.
If you recall back in January, the previous editor, Kinsey,
left and the SCN was in a transition state. Should it still go on? Should
it be ended? Was there a place for it in the community? Once again, the
same questions are raised.
I just don't have the resources to continue it alone.
However, if someone would like to apply for the position as Editor of
the SCN, please send me an
email. The requirements (and the word "requirements" means
these are mandatory) are knowledge of HTML (enough to update this page),
burning interest in Maxis sims, especially The Sims, a positive
attitude, and a willingness to volunteer.
I put up the news that Members have sent in. Hopefully,
this isn't the end of the SCN, but a change...

Dsims Nuts Party
has announced two of its major releases for the next few months, UrbanNights
and SimIsland4. SimFarm2 is already up for download at www.dsims2000.com.
UrbanNights was announced a few days ago, a night club
for your sims. Not only does it look like a Night Club, it works in a
very special way. UrbanNights brings users a program called SimGuide which
teaches how to run businesses in The Sims. For example, this SimGuide
version will teach users how to run restaurants.
SimGuide will be shown again in the second version of
a bigger release, SimIsland4, the 4th version of a top downloaded hit
(over 10,000 times already!). More information about SimIsland4 is at
the SimFarm2 pack which you can download from www.dsims2000.com.

In the spirit of Easter, Sim
Castles has created 11
Easter Objects along with two Eastery Walls and Floors! Also, there
are 5 new Spring Flower Arrangments and a Heart Rug.

Heads at Caro's
Caro's Sim Kagen has 3
new heads (C001Fa) and has re-made all 14 of the non-C001Fa
ladies' heads into C001Fa, so users can have a real style with the
real heads.

Aubrey & Veronica - At it again
SimFreaks is at it again
with great, new skins!
Strength by Aubrey is a beautiful fantasy dress based
on another Nene Thomas artwork. This beautiful red and burgandy dress
is trimmed in gold and rubies. Also a Medieval Chemise Pajama for women
is a great compliment to the previously release medieval pajama for men.
Two gorgeous gowns by Veronica are modeling heads created by Ahn. Dress
35 is a beautiful white and red formal gown with a gorgeous ruby necklace.
Dress 36 is an emerald green beauty.

One of The
Well Dressed Sim's most creative and talented might I add, master
designers is back. Robyn has started a theme set called " Lovely Leopard
Bedroom." This set includes a closet, couch, loveseat, table. mirror,
coffeetable, rug, bed, endtable, lamp, curtains, shelf, dresser, and many
paintings. My advice you should head down to The Well Dressed Sim! And
of course download it.

Fantasy Paintings
Celebrity
Sims has added 15 new paintings today to
the fantasy section. More were added to Fantasy/Misc., Unicorns, and I've
created a special section for the Mermaids as well, with more Mermaid
paintings.
Updates
at Sim Depot
The Sim Depot
has an assortment of new downloads. Their new object maker, Gypsy, has
put together a set of 10 objects, all revolving around a lighthouse theme!
There are also matching walls and floor tiles. More will be added to this
fabulous set in the coming weeks.
Also, the fabulous and talented Linda has struck yet
again, this time with 4 new House Party houses. The first one is
called Ceremonial Island, which is a Hawaiian resort complete with a volcano!
The second one is called Down on the Farm, which is a cozy, yet elegant
western home, with a creek running through the backyard. Then there is
Rock Castle, which is a large party hall, with one room for each theme
in House Party (Hawaiian, Rave and Western) plus a large kitchen
and bedroom. Finally, Dodge City is an old Western ghost town on 1 Simlane
that truly brings back the old American West. Take a stroll down main
street and you will see the old stables, bank, general store, saloon and
the old town jail. A large house stands at the end of the street, just
waiting for sims to bring Dodge City back to life. Dodge City is a truly
unique house, and is one you do not want to miss.
