"RollerCoaster Tycoon 2" seems like a simple game on the surface. The game is actually more complex than non-players think. Below are some tips from me and regular players of the game.
The Tips:
Closing Stalls
Close and open stalls according to the weather. There is no need to keep a hot chocolate stall open during July! By closing the stall, you save money in maintenance.
Increase Ride Excitement
Build scenery and themed items near ride tracks to give the illusion of collision. This is an easy way to improve a ride's excitement level.
Prevent Guests from Getting Lost
Build information kiosks near the entrances of your park. More visitors will be sure to buy a map. Remember to keep the price reasonabe.
Weather Matters
Weather can play a pivotal role in the way your park makes money. In cold, rainy weather guests aren't going to wait to go on water rides or eat ice cream. Make sure you have umbrella stands or information kiosks open during rainy weather. Guests will want to buy umbrellas, coffee, and other warm eats during cold weather. So be prepared.
Entertainers
Keeping entertainers near rides that have a long waiting line will keep your guests from getting cranky. They are also a good way to greet your guests when they enter the park.
Change Colors
Some stalls that sell clothing (hats, t-shirts, ballons, etc.) and other items give you the option to change the color. Give each stall a color, so you can watch the flow of traffic. If your paths are easy to navigate you should see an even mix of colors after a bit.
Cash Machines
Have at least one cash machine near the entrance of the park. If guests are leaving because they ran out of money, they can easily get more. Cash machines work great in other parts of the park as well!
Nauseous Guests
To help alleviate nausa place park benches, first aid stations, and drink stalls near rides with a high intensity rating.
Rollercoaster Designer
Use the Rollercoaster Designer to build rollercoasters, and then import them into the game. This way you don't have to worry about dealing with park issues and building a coaster.
Don't Waste Space
Build theme objets, stalls, and shops in the empty spaces near rides. The themed objects will raise the entertainment score. Just be aware that when you park becomes large the areas can become crowded.
Marketing
You need to get the word out about your park. Out of the marketing methods available advertising for the entire park will get the most visitors in your park. If you advertise a particular ride, make sure the ride is at the back of the park.
