"The Sims" allows player to customize their game with user creations, such as wallpaper, objects, and floors. This tutorial will teach you how to recolor a Maxis object. I wrote the tutorial for Paint Shop Pro 7 users, but the instructions can easily be converted to another graphics program.

For the purpose of this tutorial, I will assume you have some knowledge of Paint Shop Pro. If you haven't used the program before, you should still be able to complete the tutorial, especially if you are computer savvy.

Once you've completed this tutorial, try our tutorial on retexturing objects.

For this tutorial we will be recoloring column.

Software Needed:

The Sims Transmogrifrier - This program allows you to edit object files.

Magic Cookie - A magic cookie ensures that your object has a unique identity.

Paint Shop Pro 7 - This tutorial was written using Paint Shop Pro 7, but can be converted to another graphics program that you have. If you do not have Paint Shop Pro 7 you can download a 30 day trial.
