Hints: No skills are required to earn a half star from the Karaoke Stage, however to speed up the process and avoid getting booed, I suggest your Sim have 3 or 4 creativity skills and at least 1 charisma skill point. It's also good to get a head start on required skills so you don't have to worry about them later down the road.

In order for your performance to count, people have to be listening to it. It can be tricky to get Sims into the same room as the Karaoke Stage. I chat with other Sims and then go into the room with the Karaoke Stage. (Really you should redesign the lots so there are buffet tables and entertainment in the same room as the Karaoke Stage.)

After chatting, I go into the room and wait. After awhile, someone will enter the room. At that point, I jump up on stage and start singing. Your first performance probably won't attract a lot of viewers. But if the reaction is positive, have your Sim sing a second time directly afterwards. Hopefully more Sims will have moved into the room, you'll gain more fame points, and get a larger tip!
