Guide Review
Play Ball!
"Out of the Park" doesn't have fancy graphics or sound, but it does offer the ultimate strategic baseball gaming experience. You manage the team's finances, lineup, contracts, and strategy. You can choose to simulate or play each game. If you do decide to play the game (you get play-by-play text messages), and get tired of playing the game, you can simulate the rest of the game or to a specific inning.

The game is not licensed by Major League Baseball. Now at first, this may seem like a downside, but it's not. Instead it adds even more strategic thinking to the game. Instead of simply looking at players' names and deciding if they are good or not, you have to look at the numbers and decide for yourself.

The amount of statistics this game keeps is amazing. And they are always just a few clicks away not matter what screen you are in. You'd think the game would be a bit slow computing the stats, especially when simulating a few weeks at a time. But it's not. Seasons can be simulated in just minutes.
