Combat Sim fans this one is for you!
"Shogun Total War" allows you to go back in time to the 16th century and fight wars in Japan. The last leadership collapsed, leaving Japan divided into many small fractions. Each fraction leader is out to take over the country. And you are one of those leaders. You'll have to use economic strengths, strategic campaigns, and politics to overcome them all.
The real-time battles are not for the light hearted. At times there may be up to 6,000 troops fighting at once. Not only are the battles sometimes huge, but the computer is not going to be easy on you. It'll flank you, bring in reinforcements, draw you into traps, and well, just plan trick you.
Now this game isn't all about fighting. There is a lot of strategy involved. You'll need to plan where you build, and make sure you have an heir. Although there really is no way to ensure this. If your leader gets killed, that's it for you, if you don't have an heir; and kids are totally random.
"Shogun Total War" is an excellent real-time game that will keep you up all night long playing. You can easily set the difficulty mode to easy your first time playing, and gradually work your way up to the most difficult level. You can play a full campaign, or play a quick game. Full campaigns tend to last a long time. So don't plan on sitting down and beating it in one gaming session. If you are up for a challenge, this game is for you.
