You learn of opportunities, power, and fortune available in a New World. Being adventurous you decide to set sail to the New World in hopes of becoming wealthy and gaining power. "1503 A.D." will put you in a multitude of situations and climates. This strategy, empire building game will put you in positions where you will communicate with many different cultures.

The focus of "1503 A.D." is economics, trading, and building an empire. Economic systems will vary from location to location, always keeping you thinking. You'll learn to trade excess goods for necessities, and communicate and negotiate with cultures that are aggressive and sometimes hostile.

Although you will need to learn trade to survive, you'll also need to learn combat techniques. Be ready to fight to claim land and advance your nation. Combat can take place on land or in the sea.

  • Compete and interact with 9 other cultures, including Africans, Aztecs and Native Americans, from the 16th century. Each culture has its own unique traits and characteristics.
  • Settle in your choice of climate - tundra, desert, or jungle.
  • Four gameplay modes - Scenario, Campaign, Open-Ended and Multiplayer.
  • Combat tactics determined by terrain, enemy, and climate.
  • Buildings model after those found in the 16th century.
