Q: Where there other expansion pack ideas that you thought about? If so, why did Endangered Species get picked?
A: There were some indeed other ideas that we thought about. Some of those ideas which were originally thought of in a different concept actually appear in Endangered Species. Some of those ideas you won’t see yet, and still others didn’t pass the muster. We particularly liked the Endangered Animals concept because it really is all about the animals.
Q: How long did it take for complete the animations for the new animals?
A: The entire project! Actually, in all seriousness, the average animal gets over a month of animation and depending on the range of their behaviors some are definitely more intense than others. But we also are continually making tweaks and adjustments along the way so in a way we really do spend the entire project on the animations.
Q: Did you learn anything about the animals that surprised you?
A: Yep. I learned that Marhor’s can climb trees!
Q: Tell us about the new Jeep Tours and Sky Trams. Will we be able to see guests gawking at our bat caves and geysers?
A: Players can use Jeeps® and sky trams to provide transportation that guests use to get from A to B so you can get them around faster or give them ways to get to far off or isolated places. If you make the effort to give guests interesting things to see while riding on your transportation, they’ll use transportation to take tours and be entertained. And yes, you sure will see your guests gawking at the interesting things you place along your tour. The geyser and bat cave are just a couple of the new tour objects that you can use in your zoo. The Volcano is another good one and the snow and fog machines are a lot of fun. The more the guests see while riding around, the more they’ll be entertained… Of course having cool animals on your tour is particularly appreciated by your guests. Guests who enjoy their tour will give you extra donations for their experience… make a great tour and you can really capitalize your investment.
Q: I love just watching the animals interact and play with their toys, sometimes they do something totally unexpected that make me literally laugh out loud. What is the oddest or funniest thing you have seen the animals do (game bugs included)?
A: It is pretty amusing when the canines chase a Jeep® so you might see your African wild dogs and gray wolves dash after them. Of course the Fennec fox is a canine so that really is funny… they’re soooo small! And the Crested gibbon is just plain unusual. I actually had to double check with our animal experts and animators that they really do move like that.
