"Cake Mania" Review (PC)

• Customers have different levels of patience and preferences for type of cake, topper, and TV channel.
• 45 levels to complete.
• Customize kitchen by upgrading stoves, frosting stations, microwave, and toppers.

The actual reason for the game plays a minimal role in the game. It doesn't matter why you're making cakes, only that are you and you want to do it right. Each month (game time this is one level) you'll be given a monthly goal to meet. Along the way you'll make upgrades to your equipment and encounter new characters that present new challenges. Cupid likes to show up in February, is very impatient, and makes everyone else in the store feel the same way.

Making cakes is not difficult, it's easy. The real difficulty comes when the orders get more complicated. It's easy to click on the wrong icing or decoration, or to forget which cake goes with which. Customers become angry and leave if you aren't fast enough for their tastes. The other challege that comes in is having the right equipment and updates to maximize the amount of money you make.

"Cake Mania" is by no means a serious simulation game. The fast-paced arcade style play, is great for times when you can't sit and play a game for hours. Even non-gamers will feel the need to win and get to the next level.
