Guide Review - "Carnival Cruise Lines Tycoon 2005: Island Hopping" Review
The overall problem with "Carnival Cruise Lines Tycoon 2005" is that the game is too simple, which soon brought on the boredom. You do not get to customize anything about the rooms, entertainment, restaurants, etc., that you build. Even the price is preset, and that is one option that I figured you could change. The price you can change is the amount changed for a room.
The graphics are blocky, but about what I would expect from a budget title. The water is always moving as the ship cruises along. Nice thought, but it gave me a headache. I zoomed in closer to the ship to avoid the water. Just something to think about, if you get motion sickness.
You place items and decorations in the ship. Guests book rooms and visit the activities available (which there is a limited number of). After placing the buildings, there is not much else to do, except to place more buildings (shops, entertainment, etc.). More customization would make this game a lot better. Activision missed an opportunity here. If they would have put jut a little more time in, the game could have been decent. Don't buy this game, save yourself the trouble.
