Guide Review - "Trading Spaces: Design Companion" Review
The challenge mode is where the game part comes in. The time limit starts when you are ready to begin the challenge. However, the budget part of the game could have been better executed. When select a new item to buy, you are given the choice of how much the item will cost. This makes it very easy to beat the budget, you can just leave everything as zero. This could be handy if you were trying to do it for your own room, and had furniture already in mind.
"Trading Spaces: Design Companion" can be fun, changing the textures and details of everything (things like the width and height of sofas). However, if you are looking for an engrossing game, that keeps you on your toes, this is not it. It is more like the other home planning/designing software than a game.
