Guide Review - "Tycoon City: New York" Review (PC)
To recreate New York City in this city builder, you'll buy different types of buildings (apartments, stores, fast food joints, etc). Burroughs of the city will open up as progress through the city. Construction is just a matter of picking a plot of land and the business you want. After placing the building, you can upgrade the decorations, signs, and appeal. At the same time you build, you have competition that is also buying up land and taking away your customers.
As you upgrade and buy businesses, you will be given 'opportunities.' The opportunities are goals you have to meet in order to get the reward. The goals are usually not time sensitive, and those that are give you more than enough time to complete them. The opportunities include building certain areas of the city up (for example nightlife) or finding a type of person. None of the opportunities are difficult, but do break of the monotony of trying to find more businesses to build.
You do not need to experiment to find the winning strategy to earn money. Just play a few hours and the money will start rolling in faster than you can spend it. The fact that you can't lose is the problem with "Tycoon City." Pass on this game until they release a patch (or expansion pack) to add difficulty levels.
