Top 10 "The Sims 2" Expansions & Stuff Packs

"The Sims 2" has sold millions of copies since it was released in September of 2004. If you haven't at least tried the life sim, now is the time! The sequel is just as addictive, if not more than the original. Some of the favorite new features include: aging, genetics, building options, impressive animation, and 3D graphics.

1. "The Sims 2"

If you want to play "The Sims 2," you will need the base game before buying any of the expansions or stuff packs. "The Sims 2" is the ultimate life simulation game. The sequel has added aging, community lots, 3D graphics, and so much more.

2. "The Sims 2 Strategy Guide"

The strategy guide is 366 pages in full-color. Most of the information in the book you can figure out with time. The most useful are the charts on the career tracks so you can plan ahead. If you are completely new to "The Sims" world I recommend having it just in case you do get stuck.

3. "The Sims 2 University" Expansion Pack

Send teens to college instead of directly to the adult world. While at college, young adults will work on skills, make friends, and, of course, party. School days are long and involve intense working and partying!

4. "The Sims 2 Nightlife" Expansion Pack

It's all about dating and finding the perfect match in "The Sims 2 Nightlife" expansion pack. "night" comes with a Downtown similar to the one in the "Hot Date" expansion pack for "The Sims." Sims will own cars, date, bowl, play poker, and more. If you want more variety when your Sims go out, this is the expansion for you.

5. "The Sims 2 Open for Business" Expansion Pack

The focus will be ways for Sims to make money by owning their own business. Salons, toy stores, fast food joints, clothing stores, and restaurants are just a few of the businesses possible. For builders, "The Sims 2 Open for Business" adds split-levels, awnings, and new roofs.

6. "The Sims 2 Pets" Expansion Pack

"The Sims 2 Pets" adds dogs, cats, birds, and womrats to the Sims' world. The Create-a-Pet screen will allow modification of dogs and cats. The new items of "The Sims 2 Pets" focuses mainly on the pets and their needs, with some new decorations. This expansion doesn't have as much depth as other expansions. If you want pets, that's exactly what it will give you.

7. "The Sims 2 Seasons" Expansion Pack

Snow! Hail! Rain! Lightning! Sunburns! "The Sims 2 Seasons" has it all. One of the most beautifully done expansions, "The Sims 2 Seasons" adds four seasons and new objects and activities to bring together families and add a bit of fun to the Sim world.

8. "The Sims 2 Family Fun" Stuff Pack

New clothes, new furniture, and new decor designed around two main themes - fantasy and nautical. "The Sims 2 Family Fun" was created for families, it even includes matching clothes for the entire family. Kids will get complete room sets based on the themes, which is the best part about this stuff pack.

9. "The Sims 2 Glamour Life"

Our rich Sims may feel limited in what they can buy to fit their lifestyle if you don't do a lot of downloading. The stuff pack includes new objects and clothing those Sims with expensive taste - like Fortune Sims.

10. "The Sims 2 Celebration" Stuff Pack

"The Sims 2 Celebration" pack comes with items to spice up parties and give them at the very least, a face lift. Celebrations don't involve just simple house parties. Weddings and birthdays can be big productions with more choices of decorations and cakes. Perhaps the best feature of "The Sims 2 Celebration" is the fact that you can now choose the wedding gown.
