What to Know

  • Download SimPE and extract ZIP file. Select SimPE.exe to open the editor. Select Tools > Neighborhood > Neighborhood Browser.
  • Choose the neighborhood for a Sim and select Open. In the Resource Tree window, select Sim Description. Select a Sim to edit.
  • Make changes to the Sim's characteristics and select Commit. Close SimPE and launch The Sims 2 to see your changes.

How to Use SimPE to Edit Sims

The SimPE hacking tool for The Sims 2 makes it possible to control every aspect of your Sim's life. You can instantly change a Sim's career or switch majors in The Sims 2: University. The first step is to Download SimPE, extract the ZIP file and select SimPE.exe to launch the editor for The Sims 2.

Here's how to use SimPE to edit your Sims in The Sims 2 for PC.

  1. Open SimPE and select Tools > Neighborhood > Neighborhood Browser.

  2. Choose the neighborhood with the Sim you want to edit and select Open.

    After selecting the neighborhood, you'll have the option to create a backup of your game data.

  3. In the Resource Tree window (located in the top-left corner), scroll down and select Sim Description. A list of Sims in the neighborhood will appear on the right.

    To edit the family tree, select Family Ties under the list of resources.

  4. Scroll through the list of Sims and select the Sim you wish to edit.

  5. The Sim Description Editor will show a picture and information about the Sim. You will see sections for career, relations, interests, character, skills, and others. After you have made the desired changes, select Commit button to save the Sim.

  6. Close SimsPE and launch The Sims 2 to see your changes.

SimPE is no longer supported by its creators. To run SimPE, you need Microsoft .NET Framework Version 1.1 and Direct X 9c, which come preloaded on all modern Windows PCs.

SimPE can corrupt your game if the wrong files are edited, so back up your files before making changes. Backups can be done when you select your neighborhood within SimPE.
