Answer: The official "The Sims 3" release date was originally announced as being February 20, 2009. On February 3, 2009, EA announced "The Sims 3" release date was pushed back to June 2, 2009. The reason was not to perfect gameplay, but to allow more time to create a marketing plan, aka prerelease buzz.
Many simmers are upset about the release date change. They have a right to be. Changing the date two and a half weeks is not easy to swallow. Share and read fellow gamers' thoughts on my blog.
