Description:

The sixth expansion pack to The Sims 3 offers three new performance-based careers for your Sims, a new skill object, and a new town. Sims can opt to become a singer, acrobat, or magician, performing at various stages and venues in their attempt to become rich and famous at their craft.

The new skill object is a DJ booth, allowing your performance artists a chance to pay the bills as a disc jockey while honing their artistic skills during the day. The new town, Starlight Shores, has your Sims engaging with all-new neighbors, houses, objects, venues, and of course, custom stages.

The Sims 3 Showtime Expansion Pack also introduces social features into the game, which includes in-game messaging with fellow Sims 3 players (which is completely optional for those who want to play in peace and quiet) and the ability to send your Sims to perform concerts within your friends’ towns.

This added connectivity is called SimPort, which works both ways: in addition to sending your Sims out to perform, you can invite friends to send their Sims to perform in your town. Stages can be customized, allowing you to set up themed backgrounds, props, special effects, and lights to dazzle the audience.

If you decide to invite a Sim to perform, you’ll be able to judge their performance to an extent by cheering or booing them. Players will even be able to throw things on stage, form flowers to rotten lettuce, with the last item thrown becoming a part of the guest Sim’s inventory as a special gift.

For those concerned about letting random people into your game and then watching in horror as things get changed, the invite feature is limited to friends only and won't include user-created content to avoid compatibility issues from game to game.

An all-new achievement system also makes its appearance in The Sims 3 Showtime, offering new ways to show off your in-game accomplishments. Examples include selling 50 albums during the first week, receiving five kisses before Valentine’s Day, and much more.

There are hundreds of potential achievements to unlock within the game, with more achievements slated to be added after the game’s release date. Completing achievements earns you badges that can be displayed on your player profile page or posted to social media sites.

Using the SimPort feature also unlocks items, such as costumes, stage backgrounds, and props. Whether you decide to share your in-game experiences with others, or simply keep your Sims’ performances to yourself, The Sims 3 Showtime lets you create the perfect concert or show with a variety of new items, music, original songs, and other surprises.
