Description:

The Sims 3 expands to the realm of the paranormal in this expansion pack scheduled for release in September 2012. While The Sims 3 has already featured vampires (in The Sims 3 Late Night Expansion Pack) and ghosts (in the base game), the Supernatural Expansion Pack introduces witches, fairies and werewolves, along with "more interesting" vampires as part of your Sims' daily lives.

You'll be able concoct mystical elixirs, harness magic and cast powerful spells to transform the ordinary into extraordinary. Once you have added the Supernatural Expansion Pack to The Sims 3, you can instantly create a werewolf, fairy, witch, and/or vampire directly within the Create-A-Sim tool. This allows you to customize certain characteristics of your supernatural Sim, from the amount of "hairiness" on a werewolf's body to the appearance of a fairy's wings.

Each supernatural Sim you create will also be able to discover new abilities, traits, skills, and interactions to make the character stand out from normal Sims. Examples include the ability to slow the process of aging as either a fairy or a vampire, channel magic as a witch, and transform from beast to human at will as a werewolf. Elixirs can be created to do an assortment of things, from boosting careers to shedding some pounds to turning Sims into zombies. This "zombification elixir" can be used to transform an entire town into the walking dead.

The town introduced in The Sims 3 Supernatural, Moonlight Falls, includes a number of gothic décor options and magic-imbued items as well. A sliding bookcase can lead to a hidden lair, while a mirror can do more than just show your Sim his or her reflection. Careers included with the expansion consist of "mystic fortune-teller" and "alchemist." Moonlight Falls is also home to a few secrets and mysteries that are waiting to be discovered for those who might be curious and inquisitive.

Limited Edition Bonuses

Once again publisher Electronic Arts has included an incentive for those who pre-order the expansion before its September 2012 release date. Those who order the game early will receive the Limited Edition version of the game, which features content inspired from PopCap's Plants vs. Zombies.

This content includes a Peashooter plant that can be used as defensive décor in front of houses as well as versions of the zombie attire used in the game. Clothing options in the Limited Edition include a traffic cone hat, a bucket hat, a ripped zombie suit, and the "newspaper zombie" outfit (which consists of boxer shorts and sock garters).
